Molly Tuttle- When You’re Ready & Joey Landreth- Hindsight reviews

My review of Molly Tuttle’s ‘debut’ album is published over at Country Standard Time. I am well aware of who she is and why she is well-respected, but I just don’t hear bluegrass in her music- not on the previous Rise, and certainly not here. What I do appreciate is her ‘big tent’ approach to Americana music. A terrific release.

My review of Joey Landreth’s ‘debut’ album is published over at Exclaim! I am well aware of who he is and why he is well-respected, but Highsight didn’t grab me the way his previous music did. Nothing wrong with it, not at all- but while I listened to the album likely fifteen times in writing the review…I can’t remember a single song a week later. Your kilometreage may well vary, and that is just fine.

Neither of these albums are terribly rootsy in sound or vision.
