Released in January, this brilliant little album only just made its way into my hands although I’ve been listening to the download for a month or so. Deanie Richardson needs little introduction. She has played with Dale Ann Bradley in both the New Coon Creek Girls and Sister Sadie, is a respected touring and recording musician- look for clips with Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, Bob Seger, and others- is a songwriter, engineer, producer…she has done a lot in her professional career, including being part of the Grand Ole Opry staff band. My review of her latest recording is up at Country Standard Time, and it goes well beyond what one would expect from a bluegrass fiddle album. Thank goodness for that- unless your name is Kenny Baker, we really don’t need another bluegrass fiddle album, do we? Nope, this one captures all the shades of ‘grass one wants, as well as country and Celtic tones. Y;all know I love me some Dale Ann Bradley, and while she is featured here with a terrific performance, it isn’t even my favourite song on the album! This album is killer!
